Board Duties (selected)

President

  • Serving as representative of the chapter in relations with your region, other chapters, and other professional, business, and service organizations
  • Serving as liaison to the Member Services Department at ARMA International Headquarters
  • Conducting meetings of the Board of Directors and regular chapter meetings
  • In consultation with the Board of Directors, setting chapter policies, goals, and plans for development
  • Communicating with committees and assisting with special projects

Education

  • Planning the chapter’s regular monthly meeting programs
  • Coordinating logistics for chapter meetings
  • Planning the chapter’s yearly seminar (or overseeing the seminar committee)

Membership

  • Overseeing recruitment efforts
  • Following up on potential chapter membership inquiries
  • Encouraging current members to renew their membership
  • Keeping chapter membership records current

Treasurer

  • Monitoring the chapter’s financial activities
  • Producing and maintaining documentation of financial activity
  • Ensuring that disbursements and deposits are made in a timely manner
  • Overseeing the chapter’s budget process

Newsletter

  • Producing an informative, high-quality newsletter
  • Maintaining an accurate and complete mailing list of chapter members
  • Ensuring that all criteria is met if the newsletter is being considered for the Chapter Newsletter Excellence Award
