Change Management: Why Should I Care?

Overview of the principles of change management, how they affect a change initiative specifically looking at the types of change often facing a records manager e.g. legislative, regulation change, procedural and classification changes.  I will conclude the session with some practical tips for the record manager to better manage change.

Bio
Dr. Dawn-Marie Turner
is an internationally-recognized organizational change specialist with more than fifteen years of field experience. Her experience includes the development and implementation of change programming, transition planning and executive change management coaching to help organizations maximize the adoption of new systems and business processes. Dawn-Marie has a doctorate in organizational change and decision science from Walden University in Minnesota and has developed her own proprietary change transition methodology -- DEAM©. This is a proven methodology that increases an organization¹s overall capacity for change and facilitates a healthy transition in the organization. She has published and presented numerous articles on business process change management, project management, transition planning, and informatics. She has been a keynote speaker at national and international conferences on organizational change. Her clients include large health care institutions, crown corporations, post-secondary educational institutions and private industry. Dawn-Marie believes passionately in her work. She is constantly building upon her research in the science of change management and its practical application in the business world. Her ultimate goal is to leave a positive legacy of sustainable change with the organizations and individuals she is dedicated to helping.
